பெங்களூர் பற்றி இன்னும் கொஞ்சம்....

* அவரிடம் GSM மொபைல், WLL தொலைபேசி இருக்கிறது. இவர் சாஃப்ட்வேர் என்ஜினியர் கிடையாது - ஒரு ஆட்டோ டிரைவர். ஆட்டோவில் இவற்றை தவிர பத்திரிக்கைகள், செய்தித்தாள், டிஜிடல் போர்டில் ரயில்வே நேரம், முக்கிய செய்திகள்..என்று ஓடிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறது. இவை எல்லாவற்றிக்கும் மேல் பண்பாகவும், மரியாதையாகவும் நடந்துகொள்கிறார்.
இவர்களால் பெங்களூர் மேலும் சுவாரசியமாகிறது....

நம்பவில்லை என்றால் பார்க்க படம்.

* பெங்களூரில் ஒரு நாள் காலை எழு மணிக்கு ஹோட்டலில் பொங்கல் ஆர்டர் செய்தேன். வெயிட்டர் பொங்கல் கொண்டுவந்தார். பொங்கல் ஒரே தண்ணியாக இருந்தது. எனக்கு சந்தேகம். வெயிட்டரை கூப்பிட்டு ஏன் ஒரே தண்ணீராக இருக்கிறது என்று கேட்டேன். இது பெங்களூர் பொங்கல் என்றார். பசி சாப்பிட்டேன், ஸாரி குடித்தேன். பிறகு எனக்கு தெரிந்த நண்பரிடம் இதை எப்படி செய்வது என்று கேட்டேன். ரொம்ப சிம்பிள் என்று ரெஸிபி கொடுத்தார். இது இங்கே..
தமிழ் நாட்டு பொங்கல் செய்யவும். அதில் நிறைய தண்ணீர் ஊற்றி கொதிக்கவைக்கவும். அவ்வளவுதான். இப்போது தான் தெரிந்தது ஏன் தமிழ் நாட்டுக்கு தண்ணீர் தர கஷ்டப்படுகிறார்கள் என்று!. இந்த பொங்கலுக்கு ஸைடிஷ் ஆனியன் ரைய்த்தா. நம்புங்கள்.

* கன்னடக்காரர்களை அடையாளம் கண்டுபிடிக்க அண்ணா, அப்பா, அய்யா ரூல் என்று ஒன்று இருக்கிறது. சில பெயர்களை பாருங்கள்:
வீரண்ணா, புட்டண்ணா, தாசப்பா, பசவப்பா, நிஜலிங்கப்பா, ஹனுமந்தய்யா, செளடய்யா.

* கங்காராம்ஸ், க்ராஸ் வேர்டு (Cross Word) என்று இரண்டு புத்தகக் கடை பெங்களூரில் பிரசித்தம். கங்காராம்ஸில் கடைசியாக வாங்கியது. 'Peter Colaco's Bangalore' மிகவும் அருமையான புத்தகம். அவருடைய பெங்களூர் அனுபவத்தின் தொகுப்பு. பெங்களூர் பல தகவல்கள் இதில் இருக்கிறது. நகைச்சுவாயாக சொல்லப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. அசோகமித்திரனின் "ஒரு பார்வையில் சென்னை நகரம்"(கவிதா வெளியீடு) என்ற புத்தகத்தை இதனுடன் ஒப்பிடலாம்.

* போன வாரம் சென்னையிலிருந்து பொங்களூருக்கு வந்த ரயில் இருபது நிமிடம் தாமதம். ரயில்வே ஸ்டேஷனில் இருக்கும் டிவியில் KP ஜூவல்லரி விளம்பரம் ஓடிக்கொண்டிருந்தது அதில் ஒரு பெண்மணி ...
"டிங்.டாங்.டிங்..ரயில் லேட்டா ? கவலைவேண்டாம், எங்களிடம் அதிர்ஷ்ட கல் போடவும் எல்லாம் சரியான நேரத்தில் நடக்கும்..!டிங்.டாங்.டிங்.." எனக்கா அல்லது என்ஜினுக்கா என்று தெரியவில்லை. அவர்களிடம் கேட்க வேண்டும்.

* என் மகள் ஆண்டாளுக்கு Ryan International ஸ்கூலில் இண்டர்வியூக்கு அழைத்திருந்தார்கள். போன சனிக்கிழமை நானும் என் மனைவியும் மகளுடன் சென்றோம். ஸ்கூல் இருக்கும் இடம் வையிட் ஃபீல்ட். ஆட்டோவில் சென்றோம். மீட்டருக்கு மேல் பத்து ரூபாய் கொடுத்தால் சென்னை சென்றுவிடலாம் என்று நினைக்கிறேன்.
போகும் முன் என் மனைவி மகளிடம்
"ஆண்டாள், மிஸ் சாக்லேட் கொடுப்பா, வாங்கிண்டு you should tell thank you. ok"
மிஸ் ஆண்டாளை அழைத்து கொண்டு சென்றாள். அரை மணி நேரம் கழித்து திரும்ப வந்தாள். கையில் இரண்டு சாக்லேட்.
"அம்மா மிஸ் சாக்லேட் கொடுத்தா, ஆனா நான் thank you சொல்ல மறந்துவிட்டேன்" என்றாள். ஆண்டாளுக்கு அந்த ஸ்கூலில் சீட் கிடைத்தது.

* பெங்களூரில் நாய் கூட்டம் அதிகம். திருவல்லிக்கேனியில் எப்படி மாடுகள் இருக்குமோ, அதே போல் இங்கு நாய்கள். இதுவரை எப்படியோ நாய்களிடம் கடிப்படாமல் தப்பித்துவிட்டேன். மேலும் பெங்களூர் பற்றி, நாய் கடிக்காமல் இருந்தால் எழுதுகிறேன்.

in bangalore the SPCA people who always travel in car and never walk on the road are protecting the dogs as if they does not harm us. i heard lots of accidents (motorcycle) are happening because of these dogs.

haha its a nice commentry on present Bangalore, I visited Bangalore, a decade back, now again I am seeing Bangalore by Desi's writings...good..much developed too....write more about it Desi..infact I was there in whitesfield for an interview at GE...

Brought up in Tamil Nadu for more than two decades, we too felt the same with Bangalore. Watery Pongal!!!! Its so nice to read our experiences through your writings.

I am planning to write on Divya Prabandam after some months. As I have to do a lot of homework before I write something.

Bangalore naai kitta irundhu thapppika oru vazhi irukku. Atleast the naai's near your home.
Once in a month buy 2 packets of milk bikis and throw it to all the dogs. Then whatever time you come home, they will never bite you.
I tried this technique and it works.

Honestly, I came to your posts after a long time and found that lot of posts are there to read.

Even you moved to Bangalore. As, mentioned by respected Sujatha Sir, between you and him there is some kind of relation. You can check with him at what time he moved to Bangalore.
